3 Amigos + 1 Podcast: The Beat Goes on With Bruins Network

ZZTop

We got the 3 Amigos together again, but full credit to Anthony Kwetkowski of Bruins Network who suggested a joint venture, so we’re proud to unveil our first edition of the 3 Amigos + 1 podcast…4 Amigos…whatever you feel comfortable calling it.

As for us, we’re calling it a good solid near 3 hours’ worth of talk about various subjects from what the NHL playoff format might look like, to Jack Studnicka, everyone’s most interesting B’s prospect and then we answered reader-submitted questions on a host of topics from more expansion draft stuff to Tuukka Rask extension to Torey Krug’s chances of re-signing to Ondrej Kase and what the lines might look like, plus more. It runs long, but it sure felt like about 40 minutes to us.

But don’t take our word for it- give it a listen here:

As always- thanks for listening and thanks to those who provided questions!

3 Amigos + BN Podcast coming soon

The 3 Amigos will ride again- it’s been nearly 2 months since our last podcast, so we figured we would get together and talk some hockey.

This time, we will be joined by Bruins Network’s Anthony Kwetkowski, so you will all get 4 for the price 1!

As we did before, we are interested in answering your questions, so if you have any for us, please submit those questions in the comments section of this post, or feel free to contact us via Twitter.

We plan to record in the next couple of days, so if you have a question you want us to answer, we’ll need those by Wednesday morning.

Ask the Amigos: Quarantine Podcast 2020

Dom, Reed and Kirk got together for a 3 Amigos reunion, making sure to practice social distancing in the process.

We’ve got more than 2 hours of (mostly) hockey talk, breaking down questions that readers submitted. A lot of it centers around uncertainty around David Krejci and Torey Krug going forward, Jack Studnicka’s promising early returns, and a look at how expansion might impact the NHL and Boston Bruins in 2021.

We recorded the audio before news of the Jack Ahcan signing broke, so we don’t have anything on the newest free agent signing for the B’s, but you can check out the quick-hitter we posted on him here yesterday on the blog.

So, let’s go- here’s the audio file. We’ve also posted it over at SoundCloud so that you can listen on the go…

Ask the Amigos: Quarantine Blues version

We’re ba-aaaaaack!

With everything that is going on with the Coronavirus and its impacts around the globe, we thought we’d get the band back together for a reunion to take advantage of the extra time many of us now find we have.

Here’s the chance to ask Dom, Reed & myself questions about hockey- the paused 2019-20 NHL season, B’s, prospects (lots to talk about here with recent signings), pretty much anything what you want covered, we’ll try to blow into. We want to do what we can to provide some content and help maybe take the minds off of the larger issues going on. Our minds…and yours.

Just post a comment to this post with your comment and first name/location where you are, and we’ll try to address it in a future audio file. We will also take questions via DM on Twitter if you’d rather go that route by sending your question to the amigo of your choice.

We will close questions at 9 a.m. (Central) time on Thursday, March 26, and the podcast will drop on Friday.

3 Amigos Podcast: 2019 Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Final Preview Show- B’s-Blues!

Bergeron3

The 3 Amigos are back once again with our first broadcast since before Christmas with a special 90-minute preview show of the 2019 SCF.

Dom, Kirk and Reed dish on the season that was, how the Bruins got here, recap the free agent signings, trade deadline deals and what has transpired in the playoffs to get the B’s to this point- their 3rd SCF appearance since 2011. For context, after the Bruins made it to the championship round in 1988 and 1990 (losing both times to the Edmonton Oilers dynasty), they didn’t reach it again for another 21 years, beating the Vancouver Canucks and then giving the Chicago Blackhawks a tough battle two years later.

Now the B’s are back and we break it all down for you.

The pod also talks possible opponents, analyzing both the St. Louis Blues and the San Jose Sharks because we could only make our schedules happen before Game 6 of the Western Conference Final. As you all know now, the Blues prevailed at home and will face the B’s in the playoffs for the first time since Bobby Orr soared 49 years ago.

Here it is: you can listen to the 90+ minute podcast right here or proceed to Soundcloud to download and listen later at the link below.

3 Amigos Christmas 2018 Podcast: Bruins Talk, World Junior Preview

With the holiday break upon us, we got the band back together for the first Scouting Post podcast since early September.  In this episode, we talk Boston Bruins and the upcoming World Junior Championship in Vancouver, kicking off on Boxing Day (Dec. 26).

The 3 Amigos- Reed Duthie, Kirk Luedeke and Dominic Tiano bring you our take on the B’s as they deal with injuries but have managed to keep their heads above water, leap-frogging the Canadiens for one of the wild card spots with a 4-0 win at the Bell Centre Monday.  The Amigos give Torey Krug his due, but also talk about his future in Boston. We talk some of the youngsters like Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson, Colby Cave, Jeremy Lauzon and others, analyzing what the opportunities  to get into the Boston lineup might mean down the road for GM Don Sweeney and his options to improve the big roster. Kirk goes on a bit of a rant over David Backes and the way he gets treated by some out there. We also dig into past drafts and the tendency to focus on missed picks/players the Bruins didn’t draft vs. those they did. Dom also breaks down undrafted free agent OHL goalie Kyle Keyser and why he might be the sleeper surprise in net for the B’s who have quietly built up their future net prospects with a solid trio in Keyser, Daniel Vladar and Jeremy Swayman.

On the WJC front, Reed breaks down Team Sweden in detail, while Dom predicts the teams he expects to leave Vancouver with medals.

It’s a solid 100 minutes of commercial-free hockey talk- we hope you’ll stick with it.

Ok- enough with the intro- here’s the audio file. Happy Holidays to all and thanks for listening!

We brought the band back together for one final podcast before the 2018-19 season- it wrapped up on Labor Day weekend, the final official weekend of the summer before we go back to our busy schedules.

Thanks to all of the supporters who took the time to post some thoughtful questions- this one takes us about 90 minutes to get through.

Will try to put it up on Sound Cloud at some point, but for now- you have to listen to it here. It’s not on iTunes and isn’t going to be- limitations of technology at present.

Thanks for listening and be sure to stick around until the end to hear an important message from Dom.

Here’s the audio- appreciate all of the support!- Dom, Reed & Kirk

Ask the Amigos

EDIT: We recorded the podcast last night- the comments are officially closed- thanks to all who submitted! Watch for the show to air early next week after the long Labor Day weekend- KL

3 Amigos Podcast: What’s Next for the Bruins (Pt 15)- the Finale

3-amigos-gif

The 3 Amigos are back with a 90-minute podcast in which we put the finishing touch in the “What’s Next” for the Bruins series at this blog. It’s now June and that means expansion draft and NHL Entry Draft, with July giving way to the major roster-shaping period.

Listen to the pod for an idea of the shape we think the team is in and what challenges and key events Don Sweeney is focusing on. We also talk Anders Bjork, who the Vegas Golden Knights might pluck from the roster, NHL draft options, and myriad other things.

3 Amigos Supplemental Podcast (Ep. 9): Ask the Amigos

As promised, Dom, Reed and I are back with a 45-minute Q & A from questions we got from listeners and readers on Twitter.

We’re giving you our best shot, because we wanna be your dogs. It’s true- just like Iggy Pop does for our podcast music.

This will be the last Amigos podcast for a while- we enjoy bringing these to you, but we all have full-time gigs and don’t have the ability or resources to produce regular offerings. Appreciate the support as always.

Enjoy.
